Energy efficiency is a hot topic these days. And with fuel and electricity costs continuing to rise, conserving energy is becoming more important than ever. ENERGY STAR is a joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy helping us all save money and protect the environment through energy efficient products and practices. Energy Star standards are helping consumers to identify products that use less energy. To be an Energy Star rated refrigerator, the model must use at least 15% less energy than the 2001 federal standard. Most refrigerators that you see in local appliance stores use about 15-20% less than this standard. The Sun Frost refrigerator that we carry uses 53% less energy than the standard!
