Solar Electric Design 102
This two-day workshop will build upon the introductory concepts presented in the 'Introduction to Solar Electric Systems' workshop by exploring in greater depth everything involved in PV system design and installation. Academic and hands-on mini labs will be interspersed throughout, giving participants some practical experience working with actual system components. Whether you're just getting started or are already in the business, this workshop will provide an informative and practical educational experience.

Participants will gain an in-depth knowledge of Photovoltaic (PV) Systems and learn how to determine the feasibility and system size requirements of a PV installation. This workshop will build off the 'Intro to Solar Electric Systems' workshop with greater depth and will incorporate hands-on lab exercises.
This is a two-day workshop including lecture, A/V presentations, technology demonstrations, book and hands-on lab exercises, and scheduled breaks.
'Solar Electric Design 101' or equivalent is required. If you have not taken the 101 course at AltE University, please contact us with information about your previous solar energy education.
We encourage (but don't require) you to bring a calculator and a copy of your utility bill as we will review household power usage issues during the class. Although there will be some hands-on lab exercises, you are not required to bring your own tools or equipment. Basic hand tools and safety gear will be provided. Closed-toe shoes are required (no flip flops, open-toed sandals, etc.).
Each student will leave the seminar with a packet of information and a renewed enthusiasm for moving their household or business toward greater sustainability and energy efficiency. Special discounts on selected books and products are available to our seminar attendees! Sign up today while enrollment is still open!

| Eric Pedersen joined AltE in late 2007 and has been fast becoming our in-house sales expert for Solar Electric. He has a marketing degree from University of Texas and a passion for working towards worldwide resource sustainability. When he made the career switch to renewable energy, he made a choice to learn as much as he can so he can pass that learning on to others. In his free time Eric can be found wandering about outside somewhere soaking up all that good clean nature. |
James joined the Alt-E team in 2005 and is currently our Sales Engineer, specializing in Photovoltaic system design. James earned his degree in Renewable Energy from San Juan College in Farmington, New Mexico. He is responsible for the prepackaged systems on our website as well as being the lead of our tech support team. When he's not working with renewable energy, he is likely refereeing soccer games, or doting over one of his Volkswagens. |
